Where we agree

Both give every guest a limited roll from a QR code with no app download and no account, keep the photos sealed until a host-chosen reveal, and store them at full resolution with no watermark on the final files. Both treat the constraint - limited shots, no previews - as the point rather than a limitation.

Where we differ

How the price is built

Scene prices by guest count and sells capability as add-ons: the tier covers how many people may join, while unlimited shots cost $9.99 extra, video clips another $9.99, and an audio guest book is a separate product and a separate purchase entirely. A 100-guest wedding wanting all three is roughly $100 rather than the $39.99 headline. TBT is one flat $149 with every feature already in it - clips, voice wishes, photo missions and the live venue wall - and the guest count never changes the number.

When you pay

This is the real difference. Scene is paid upfront, like everyone else in this category. With TBT the event is free to create and free to run; you browse the entire album afterwards, watermarked, and pay only if you want to develop it. If your guests did not shoot much, or the album disappoints, you owe nothing. Nobody else in this market prices that way.

Running out of room mid-wedding

Because Scene's tiers are hard guest caps, their own FAQ states that when an event is full, new guests cannot join until the host upgrades. At a wedding that means a table of people who arrive late finding the camera closed. With flat pricing there is no cap to hit.

What's in the roll

A TBT roll carries photos, short clips and a recorded voice wish, plus a photo mission dealt to each guest, all in one place. Scene keeps photography and audio as deliberately separate products - their spec is explicit that a camera event has no voicemail and a voicemail event has no camera - so a couple wanting both buys and runs two events.

Choose Scene if…

Your guest list is small, or you want the lowest possible price and can live with add-ons. Scene's free tier for five guests is genuinely free with every feature unlocked, and for a small party it is hard to beat. Their work on image quality is real and openly documented.

Choose TBT if…

You are running a full-size wedding, you want clips and spoken wishes in the same roll without buying a second product, you would rather not risk a guest cap mid-reception - and you would rather see the album before paying for it.
