Where we agree

Both hand every guest a fixed film roll - 8, 16, 24 or 36 shots on Keeps, up to 36 on TBT - with no previews and no retakes, joined by scanning a QR with no app download and no account. Both hide everything until a host-set reveal, then unlock it at once, and both deliver full-resolution downloads afterwards.

Where we differ

Who can host

Keeps is hosted from an iPhone: their site offers an App Store download and nothing else, with no Android host app and no web dashboard published. If the person organising the wedding carries an Android phone, they cannot set the event up at all, even though Android guests shoot fine. TBT is hosted entirely in the browser on any device, and guests use the browser or an iPhone App Clip.

What a roll can hold

Keeps is photographs only - no video and no audio are advertised anywhere on their site. A TBT roll carries short clips and a one-minute spoken wish for the couple alongside the stills, plus a photo mission dealt to each guest, which is the mechanic that fills an album with shots nobody would have thought to take.

Price shape, and when you pay

Keeps prices by guest count - free to five, $29.99 for a hundred, $69.99 for two hundred, and a custom quote beyond that - paid upfront. For a straightforward photo-only wedding under 200 guests, that is cheaper than TBT's flat $149, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What you are paying the difference for is clips, voice wishes, missions, the live wall, no guest ceiling, and the fact that you only pay at all if the album is worth it to you.

Choose Keeps if…

You host from an iPhone, you want photographs and nothing else, and your guest list is small enough that the tier price is comfortably below ours. Keeps does the core thing well and charges less for it.

Choose TBT if…

You want the night's voices and motion as well as its photographs, you host from an Android phone or a laptop, your guest list is large or uncertain - or you want to see the album before deciding it was worth paying for.
